In the news: War Zone Yoga

Yoga, blast walls and life in the Afghan Kabubble

It seems the rest of the war-torn world is finally taking a hint from Cosmic Yoga at the Market Hotel, with our rumbling JMZ and developing-country-chic Myrtle Broadway intersection.

But these guys are taking it to a new level in Kabul, Afghanistan.
"If you're thinking about taking a yoga class at Kabul's Fig Health Centre, you'll be relieved to know that the yoga studio windows are packed with tilting stacks of green sandbags.
That way, if a car bomb goes off during yoga class, the sandbags and anti-blast glass will offer a little extra protection from flying shrapnel."
Point taken.
